OK, for you so-called mature folks (haha, yeah-right! lol)...

Today's trivia question is:

Which animal has the largest PENIS, in penis-to-body ratio???

(The ACTUAL biggest belongs to the blue whale, but we're not talking actual largest. We're talking body size ratio...)

Blogger danielle said...

The elephant or a whale. I don't know which but it has to be one of them. Unless I am wrong and it could be a small animal because you said body-size ratio. So maybe I will go with either a rodent of some sorts or a horse.

Oh wait I don't think I am mature enough for the question. (Tee hee giggle giggle)(*blush*)

I'm going with horse. Oops, I'm with Danni, I'm not mature or OLD enough to answer this question!!! LOL!!

I think I better go ask my mommie. J/K, GS!:) Ummmmm, I thought horse right away, but then I thought a little more. I do think from time to time! lol And I think it's the giraffe! I can't remember details, but I think it's the giraffe! Do we have to wait till Monday for the answer!?

LOL, no I won't torture you all this time, seeing that you're all WAY OFF!!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

I'll give the answer around 4 pm. But you guys are way off. You're all thinking of big animals. Re-read what I said...
Dannie's got the right idea, although still off....

Barnacles have the largest penis to body ratio of any animal! Okay, GS, did I get this one right? After my "mad cow disease" answer last week, my self esteem is low :( . By the way -- love the posting, but I'm obviously not THAT mature! Couldn't resist looking :).

Which version of Trivial Pursuit does this one appear in? hahaha.

Unfortunately I don't know the answer to this one. Maybe a monkey of some kind?

I'm certainly old enough, and kind of mature I suppose, but it's been a really long time...could you remind me - what exactly IS a penis?

Aha, back to television again, I am voting for the FLEA! I heard that on the National Geographic Channel, they did a show about it. Not that I watched it, mind you, it was alredy on and I didn't want to change the channel.....!

I believe this answer can be found in the "Body Parts of Animals Trivial Pursuit"! :) Come on GS -- did I get this one right? Barnacle? By the way, Marigold & Brutus have their tickets for tomorrow morning. All set to fly to their Mommy Rose! Excitement! Just went by my vet to get their health certificates and she has soooo many kittens that need homes -- anyone in the Houston area out there want to help? Email me at dtaylor@houston.rr.com

LOL... OK, OK... so yeah, the winner is.....

Debra!!!!
*bells ringing and confetti falling*

Yes indeedy! The barnacle has the largest penis, in comparison to the size of its' body!!!!!

Deb, glad the kittens are so close to their new homes! Hope all goes well!

OK, guys, see you on Monday (and perhaps a weekend pop-in!)

Blogger Gheeri's Servant said...

Deb, you SO looked it up on the internet, didn't you?!?!? lol

4:11 PM
Anonymous Deb said...

I SO did not! I am a virtual fountain of useless information! I remember the most random of things. Idiot Savant -- that's me! So what did I win? Ohhh, maybe I don't want to know considering the question :)!!!

That is soooo funny! Karen I just was laughing out loud. What is a barnacle? Doesn't that live underwater? Kinda like a starfish? Do those creatures have sex? How about coral? And if they do......HOW?

A group of adult cats is called a ______________.

A group of kittens is called a ______________.

HERE IS ONE FOR YOU! Make mine chocolate chip! Invisible cookies are the best -- no calories!

Danielle - Coral Sex? That's too funny, and it sounds even funnier...if you know what I mean...

Noooo, this can't be. I would of put my money on the flea's penis any day of the week. Barnacle? I demand a recount!

now that's just odd

Blogger ML (Mary Lynn) said...

The post refers to Deb's questions above:
A group of cats is called a clowder (sometimes a clutter);
A group of kittens is caled Kindle.

7:09 PM
Anonymous Deb said...

WOW, ML I am impressed. One batch of invisible cookies to you as well. Did you look that up? :)

7:18 PM
Blogger Karen C. said...

I know - I mean the words are odd. Where did they come up with those? I would've picked words that are, well, "cuter" words I guess. Clowder reminds me of "clam" and "chowder" put together. Kindle makes me think of kindling. Neither clam chowder or bits of wood make me think of kittens. Now at least clutter is a normal word, but clutter is what I put everywhere in my house and office. Lots of cats would be a huge improvement over clutter. Who made up these silly words anyway?

7:22 PM
Blogger danielle said...

Iagree with Karen all the way.

Think those cat terms are olde english or something. I used to play trivia games and "animal group names" were a popular subject. They don't make any sense and certainly do not convey the majesty and elegance (and fun) of a group of cats or kittens.

I still can't believe my flea lost to Deb's barnacle. I tried to research it on the web, so I could prove to you all my flea's biggest --- you should see some of the links it came up with! Whoa. Whew!

9:31 PM
Anonymous Deb said...

Ha! My barnacle is bigger than your flea! I can just imagine the websites that you have found -- insert blush here! Still impressed that you knew the answer to my trivia -- will have to try harder! :)

SOMETHING FUNNY TO READ!
Does Your Cat Own You?
At the store, do you pick up the cat food and kitty litter before you pick out anything for yourself?
Do the Christmas cards you send out feature your cat sitting on Santa's lap? Does your cat sign the card?
Do you accept dates only with those who have a cat? If so, do you eventually double-date with the cats to see how they get along?
Do you admit to non-cat owners how many cats you really have?
Do you buy more than 50 pounds of cat litter a month?
Do you climb out of bed over the headboard or footboard, so you won't disturb the sleeping cat?
Do you give your cat presents and a stocking at Christmas?
Do you have more than four opened but rejected cans of cat food in the refrigerator?
Do you have pictures of your cat in your wallet?
Do you kiss your cat on the lips? Do you put off making the bed until the cat gets up?
Do you scoop out the litter box after each use? Do you wait at the box with the scoop in your hand? Do you select your friends based on how well your cats like them? Do you sleep in the same position all night because it annoys your cats when you move?
Do you think it's cute when your cat swings on the drapes or licks the butter?
Do you watch bad TV because the cat is sleeping on the remote? Does your cat sit at the table (or ON the table) when you eat?
Does your cat sleep on your head? Do you like it?
Does your desire to collect cats intensify during times of stress? When people call to talk to you on the phone, do you insist that they say a few words to your cat as well?
When someone new comes to your house, do you introduce your cat, by name, to them?
Would you rather spend a night at home with your cat than go out on a bad date?

Well, I'm giving up. It's been a few years since the flea fact anyway, now the barnacles have moved in and taken over. Sigh.

Well, I was looking just now on the internet for group names of animals, trying to remember some of the better ones (pod of dolphins, a scurry of squirrels) and found this website: http://www.thealmightyguru.com/Pointless/AnimalGroups.html that had some I never knew of. Uh-oh, better watch out now.

They list for group of cats: Clowder, Clutter, Pounce, Dout, Nuisance, Glorying. Hmmmm.

and for group of kittens: Kindle, Litter, Intrigue.

Ooh,Ooh, that reminded me of the bumper sticker Kitty gave me for my birthday: GROW YOUR OWN DOPE: PLANT A MAN--TeeHee(Sorry Larry, it was sitting up and begging!!

Yes, a lot of us post to both sites since many of us encouraged Kat & GS to start these sites when TDK was down for 3 weeks. Most of us met there, though we've picked up a few people since.
