Benji! (before, and after!)

*AHEM.... I would have posted this earlier, but I was waiting on an email from Kat.... lol.* ~GS
Benji came to me as a 6 week old foster. He and his 3+ siblings (only 4 came to me) were rescued from behind my sister-in-laws office bldg. There is/was a colony of ferrals living back there. We were able to catch...(I always have to stop and think)...ten kittens. There were more that were young enough to successfully rescue, but we couldn't get them. Benji's pappa was orange and in the group of kittens we rescued, there were 3, yes 3, orange girls and 2 orange boys! Very unusual! You may remember Sonny who was on TDK and his brother Shadow. They were brothers (different litter) we think of Benji too. I am working on getting pix of Benji's two orange sisters, Emma & Gracie, who live w/my sister-in-law. Anyway! Benji from day 2 was different than the rest and my son asked his dad if we could keep Benji for his b-day. And to our surprise and delight, Dad said "yes"! He will be 1 year old July 9th and is almost as big as my Marley, who btw is 15 lbs. of snuggly furbaby! I'm anxious to see how much he weighs now! Benji is such the sweetboy! He loves to cuddle and have tummy rubs and give head butts! Benj sleeps w/his boy, Jared (my 7 yr. old, soon to be 8!! Yikes!) most every night and we love him bunches! Ok, I'll stop now!

Is it just me, or does Benji look like some sort of chinchilla or sugar glider in that first pic with those big ol' eyes! So cute! Now he's a handsome boy!!!!

Hi Benji Boo! What a surprise! :)
Thanks GS! Blame the late posting on me! I am Just Joking!! Love you GS! lol...GS, did you see Val's(Katnippia) comment about a home for one of the kits maybe? And Rose had researched and commented about a couple rescue groups in the FL area near you!

Oooh - big handsome boy! I love kitties with spots AND stripes. Benji has those lovely spots on his back, plus the striped tail and legs. That's an excellent pose in the grown up picture - he looks great on that blanket!

HAHA.... no-I'll go back & read-my computers' wacky today....

1) Hopefully, Ravenclaw is a boy, and he'll have a home. We'd like to eventually keep either Squeaker or one of the kittens, but if they all go that would be great. They all deserve it.

2)I've tried to find traps. The Wildlife center doesn't have any. They told me that Home Depot has them, but they're around $40, which I can't afford right now. I called Animal Control-they don't have them, but they gave me the # of a place that rents them out! I was like, great! I call..... they're all rented out, and the next one is coming back Thursday, which is too late!!!! We have to be out tomorrow night!

3) Bryan has to have surgery on his hand. Apparently, a bone fragment broke off and severed some ligaments (it may explain why he couldn't lift his thumb), so they need to put some "pins" in, and remove them in 4-6 weeks. So he's gonna be out of work. He goes in to surgery on Wednesday... *sigh*

Can someone "put me out of my misery"??? Just pretend I'm a horse with a broken leg back in the 1800's.....

If it's not one thing it's 10! And like you said GS, when it rains, it pours! Doesn't seem fair! But! Things will work out! I can't believe no one has traps to borrow! When will Bryan have to have surgery?

I am so sorry to hear all that. You have way too much going on right now.

Benji is soooo cute. I love the pic in the box. On the blanket it looks like hes saying Ok I'll pose but be quick! Jake has a favorite child. My 7 year old boy. That's so funny. They are quite alike.

I know, I know...You all are probably saying to me "OKAY Rose "! (hehe :) ) Anyway, I just thought of something else. GS, you may have already checked them out before, but I can't remember. But what about PetsMart? As most of them have rescue groups there.

Well, SOME good news- I called our Home Depot and they DO have traps, and they're only about $20, but it can only hold the kittens-it's rat/squirrel sized, so I hope it works... if the rescue place doesn't get back to me, I'll buy one and we'll se where it goes....

I hope you can catch them before you have to leave. How far away is the new place? Could you leave the trap and go check on it or is it too far? Could you get a neighbor to help out? So many questions. Benji you are too cute. Are you a long kitty? You look like you are long. My spot is very long.

~~~~~~~~I SAW THAT,KAT!!!!~~~~~~~~
Your Benji is One Handsome Dude, as he must remind you of, often...Perfect Marmalade-Ginger Kitty...dare I venture my opinion before Our (hot and bothered in London) Rosie?
Nicely balanced F.B.'s!!
Oh, Geez, I feel sooo useless - I want to help GS's feral FuZZes, and I don't know how...maybe if I had an address where they are, I can call the feral rescue groups I found in Florida - I'm home, got a GREAT phone plan - flat rate, wherever I call in the US or Canada...GS, do you have my e-mail?
Best one to use for now is, because of the audio message notice on it, and my phone number is 732-317-2897...I have no where to go tomorrow, and I'll put out feelers as soon as my first cup of coffee's finished brewing and/or the rescue sites may be open...
Whatever, you know that... okay? Okay! Your the Commander-in-Chief!!
GO GETTUM, ROSE!! Prayers and moral support coming from me. I have to work, volunteer, and get this place whipped into something approaching order before 5am on Friday--when I leave for Tucson. The high there today was 109!! Yick:(
Benji is sooo sweet. Our Thomas was a big yellow cat- who thought he was a dog! He loved walking on his leash, he ran TO the door when the bell rang, he knew no strangers, and he would eat anything, except applesauce and raw onions.
To bed for me!
