Still need homes!

*OK, so we have a few prospective homes for possibly 2 of the kittens. That leaves Grace and 3 more! C'mon, people, dig contacts out of the woodworks! Remember, all you have to do to help is pass it on to everyone you can-and ask those people to pass it along. EVENTUALLY there will be people in Houston. Please, I'm only asking you to ask others to visit the site and pass it along. It's not that hard, guys. Step 1-copy and paste link in new email. Step 2-put every email address you know (except kitty-haters-we don't want none of those!) into the "send to:" area. Step 3-click on "Send". See? That wasn't so bad. In just 3 easy steps, you too can help get these beautiful kitties forever homes. No obligation to buy, money-back guarantee. And (in baby voice) how can you resist those itty bitty faces?!?!

Once again-the other posts have Deb's email, and you can always contact me. My email is in my profile. Thanks for all the support, Fuzz Pack! ~GS*

Gheeri's Servant, I love the way that you write! Thanks you again for everything that you are doing to help Grace & Company! They send meows to you! I don't have any "final" homes for them yet, but, with all the help from you, ML, and all the other Fuzz Packers, I'm not worried! Grace, Brutus, Foster, Marigold & Pete want to express their thanks to everyone for helping them! They are the sweetest kitties! Going to go and kiss on them now! =^..^=

No prob Deb! I love doing what I can for the fuzzies, and this much I can do. I only wish I could take Beautiful Grace. Unfortunatly, I've got my own multiple-kitty-family crisis here. Too many!!!!

Morning Fuzz Packers!!!!!

The radio station I listen to while I'm at work is playing "Stayin' Alive" (by the Bee Gees, for the youngen's, lol), and I just wanna get up and dance!!! But the fear of the staring and looks keeps me planted in my seat. Funny how the Bee Gees can have that effect, even when you're having a bad day....

Good Morning,
If I had my own place I would say ship them all straight to me. Unfortunately I live with my mom. I hope all the best to the everyone in the hunt for new homes for these adorable little ones (mom included). I am going to try to help as well.

And tomorrow I meet with Lisa, who has been a PetSmart manager for a few years. She's bringing a list of contacts (trusted contacts as she put it) for us to call. I mentioned possibly having the kitties in store sometime during the weekend -- let the Houston public get a look up close at those "itty bitty faces". WHO COULD RESIST????

Gheeri, you are right. You should have gotten up and danced anyway damn the stares!

I am so glad all these babies are closer to finding forever homes. I wish I could have one, or knew someone in Houston that would take one, I think I want the little buff striped one, or the bright orange one, or the orange and white one, aaaw who am I kidding I want them all...oh well, kiss and squeeze them for me! And tell whoever that ends up taking them, that it is a requirement that they keep us updated on these babies and mamma.

I'll second that, riquel, we must keep updated once the kits and mamma move to forever homes.

I love seeing new pictures of Grace and family. So much orange, so little time. I'm just so sure that they'll find homes. (crossing fingers).

ml, I can't wait to hear how your meeting with Lisa goes tomorrow.

Meows from Grace & Company here in Houston. Any advice on how to wean the babies from Grace? They are about six weeks old now. Is that too soon? The boys weigh over a pound each. Marigold is smaller. Thanks for everything.

deb, it's not to young-Squeakers' kittens are eating the dry food that I leave for her, and they are 4-5 weeks old!

The best way is to soften some kitten kibble with a tiny bit of water. After about a week of this, give them the dry kibble. They will take to it quickly! But they won't stop nursing until they are seperated from Grace...

Thanks so much for the advice. I will separate them this weekend and give it a try! I appreciate the quick response! I think that Grace will put on some weight when she stops nursing! Oh my goodness, they are just the cutest cats. I just went up to give them all kisses! Irresistable!

WHOA!!!! OK, I guess I shouldv'e given more info....

deb, they shouldn't be sperated from her yet. It's imperative to thier mental growth that they stay with mom until they find homes. For me, the ideal time to take them away from mom is 12-15 weeks. I don't know what your laws are, but here it's illegal to remove them from mom before 8 weeks. It's OK to feed them dry food and still let them nurse. The mo does it like that in the wild. Around 4 weeks she starts bringing prey to the den so they can have food, but they still nurse. Eventually, around 12-16 weeks, mom gets tired of the toll nursing has on her body & leaves and doesn't look back, but they are capable of handling themselves by then. But depending on the colony of ferals, a lot of times the babies are weaned, but stick around for the company. Especially if people are feeding them. So, please don't seperate them, but still begin the weaning! Sorry I wasn't clearer before!!! :)

If I didn't live in Michigan, I would be tempted by these adorable babies and their beautiful mom. I don't know anyone in the State of Texas but will pass along, as I'm sure others will too. They are so sweet and hopefully will all soon be in "forever homes".

That picture on top with Grace with her paws around that kitten is my favorite of all the pictures (and I've seen ALL the pictures - thank you ML)! When my three were little, I used to lay down in the middle of the floor and let them climb all over me and play. I miss having a pile of tiny kittens.

Karen -- that is my very favorite picture, too. Yes, I do have gone through each and every one of the ga-zillion photos just like you probably did. ha-ha. When I asked Deb for pictures, never figured there were that many!!! ha-ha.

Such wise women! Thank you gherra's servant for the specific instructions. I certainly don't want the babies to need "kitty therapy" because I weaned them too soon. :) I can't resist photographing this family...they are so photogenic! I love the picture of Grace too, she really loves her babies!

LOL! kitty therapy! Actually, whenever you see bite-y cats, those are usually the ones that got taken away too early. They are supposed to be with their mom & siblings because they teach the kitten how to act. No biting, or you'll get bit back. When playing, don't use your claws. When your playmate is tired, leave them alone. All very important lessons that don't get learned unless they have a proper amount of time with thier family.

And thats OK about the pics! Thats how you can tell you love cats- I also go crazy when taking pics-I can never get enough-but then I get yelled at that I'm taking too many, so I go back and delete some...lol

GS, LLoyd's the same way. He asked me last night. So how many cat pix do we have taking up space on our computer...100?? I was like...NO! ::under my breath, I said 99::

Okay - I've been looking at Grace's picture over and over and there was always something familiar about it...like I'd seen that face before...and it just hit me - Grace looks just like my former sister-in-law, Judy! If Judy were a cat, that's what she'd look like - similar shape to the face and the eyes and a similar expression. I know none of you know my former sister-in-law Judy and, therefore, don't really care but I'm just SO relieved to have FINALLY figured it out!

Too bad I'm waaaay over here in Hawaii and already have 4 cats. I DID e-mail my sister who lives in San Antonio about the Grace family but she's still pretty far from Houston and already has 3 cats.

GS you've answered my musings about why Pumpkin bites so much. He was found when he was about 2-weeks old and was bottle-fed. He play-bites EVERYONE. The other cats don't bite back and just run away. At least he doesn't use his claws when he grabs you.

Karen, that is so funny about your former sister-in-law. Hope you are still friends! Grace is such a beautiful cat. Elegant! She loves attention. The babies are all cuddled up at the moment...asleep. Baby Bundle!! Kat, I know what you mean, my husband is always telling me that I take more pictures of the cats than the kids! We are in the process of buying a home in Bethesda, MA. He sent me pictures of the inside (he toured it). One of the pictures is titled "Cat Room"! My five forever cats actually have their own bedroom to sleep in at night. At 10:00 p.m., they all go and get in their beds.

Well, the room is actually "custom" decorated for them. Each has his/her own bed. My black piano is in their room. Seaborne, my 21 lb. white cat, likes to drape himself...everso elegantly over the piano. He knows he looks amazing! Aren't cats fun! I will miss Grace & company too...but, I will take comfort in the fact that they will have even more attention and love...if that is possible. I have enjoyed this little family so much!

They're so cute! I'd get one, but I'm way too far away up here in New England. Also, I'm allergic to cats, but I still love them... That's why I seek out cat pictures!
