This beautiful girl still needs a "forever home". Can someone find it in their heart to take her? She's a loving lap-kitty. I don't doubt that the babies will find homes, but Grace needs a home too. Everyone should pass on the link to her post to everyone they know and ask them to pass it on as well. SOMEONE has to want a gorgous girl like Gracie. And yes, two kittens (from yesterday) are still homeless. Please circulate this!!!! Anyone interested can post here, or contact Deb @ her email (yesterdays' post). ~GS

Pete & Foster (& Mommy) still need homes!!!

Pete (top) and Foster (bottom) still need homes, as well as their beautiful mommy, Grace (only two pics per post, guys. See previous posts for pics of her!). But we've accomplished a lot in the fact that 2 of the kittens HAVE been adopted (YAY!!!!!! *Balloons and confetti fall*). BUT, there are still 3 more that need homes. Grace is a loving lap kitty, who just wants some attention. I would take her myself, but I have my own 3 kitty families that I'm trying to find homes for. Please, someone, find it in your heart to take in this beautiful girl! OK, spread the word, everyone. Thanks everyone who helped!!!! ~GS

p.s. If you are interested in Grace, or one of the kittens, email Debra at Do remember that she is located in Houston.

Still need homes!

*OK, so we have a few prospective homes for possibly 2 of the kittens. That leaves Grace and 3 more! C'mon, people, dig contacts out of the woodworks! Remember, all you have to do to help is pass it on to everyone you can-and ask those people to pass it along. EVENTUALLY there will be people in Houston. Please, I'm only asking you to ask others to visit the site and pass it along. It's not that hard, guys. Step 1-copy and paste link in new email. Step 2-put every email address you know (except kitty-haters-we don't want none of those!) into the "send to:" area. Step 3-click on "Send". See? That wasn't so bad. In just 3 easy steps, you too can help get these beautiful kitties forever homes. No obligation to buy, money-back guarantee. And (in baby voice) how can you resist those itty bitty faces?!?!

Once again-the other posts have Deb's email, and you can always contact me. My email is in my profile. Thanks for all the support, Fuzz Pack! ~GS*

Grace & Family needs your help!

*Sorry, Fuzz Packers, but I am going to be posting this family until Saturday, and every so often until they ALL find homes! If you don't like it, TOO BAD!!! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!! Seriously, the quicker we find them homes, the faster we're back to normal! Trust me, I've got TONS of pics of Grace & her SPREAD THE WORD!!!! Invite people to Pet du Jour and send out emails! Thanks for everyone's support! ESPECIALLY Karen C (Hope you're reading this!), a valuable Fuzz Packer (I know you know why I'm dedicating this to you!). She's a great Fuzz mom and a good friend! ~GS*

I am completely overwhelmed by the feedback that I have gotten, as well as the help from Mary Lynn and everyone else. As to how I came to get my "fosters", my vet got a "tip" that this Mommy & babies were at the SPCA & scheduled to be destroyed. The babies were only a week old. She called me because she knew that I would help.Took me about 10 minutes to get there!So...Grace and Company have been living the "good life" as every kitty should in my master suite. They have had checkups and are perfect. My goal is to find great "forever" homes for them! I would love to keep them, but 10 cats (I already have 5) would be a bit much!I need to share with others! Thanks to all for prayers and well-wishes! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*** OK, people. I don't ask for much, but we need your help. A lovely friend of kitties everywhere, Deborah, in Houson, TX, has rescued this wonderful little family from the SPCA. The top pic is of Pete & Marigold, 2 of the kits. Grace is the momma, and the cream/orange one is Brutus. The last one is Foster. If anyone near the area can take one, or at least foster them-please let me or Deborah know. Her email is : I won't give out her number, for telemarketers' sake. I will post more pics tomorrow, but someone, please help!!!!!!! Here is Deb's story: "I am fostering a 1 year old mommy cat and her 4 five-week-old kittens. I rescued them from being destroyed at the S.P.C.A. They are beautiful and healthy. They have all had vet check ups and are perfect. I am going to need homes for these kitties. I have five "forever" cats of my own. All my "forevers" were foundlings. I would love to keep Grace & her babies, but ten cats is a bit much. I am moving to D.C. this summer. Is there any way that you can help me find "forever" homes for my foster children?" Please help! ~GS***

I have attached a pic of my Chow, Rex.

We adopted him from the local spca. The previous owner left him there because he was fighting w/ his other male chow (both were not neutered). Rex is about 16 years old, extrememely hard of hearing and has cataracts in both eyes. He lost his hearing from repeated seizures. we think this was the real reason the previous owner gave him up. the vet doesn't know the cause. Rex is still the sweetest chow ever. He will gently take food from your hand when offered. My husband discovered Rex has a love of potato chips (thank goodness they share a bag only on rare occasions). Rex seems to be a bit vain and loves to look at himself after grooming. As you can see by his pic he really is a pretty boy. he has been such a blessing to our family. ~Shirley

Baby Casper

*I was supposed to have put this up when TDK was down, but I had so many to sort through that I never did. So here's Casper's baby photo! Sorry, Casper! ~GS*
This is a picture of Casper when he was little. He sure doesn't look like this now, does he?? We were motel managers when I finally caught him as he became sick with an upper respiratory condition and took him to the vet. He's been a pretty healthy cat since then. He coughs and sneezes now and then but no more than any other cat. ~Monica

*look in Archives for Joe, Mikes' brother ~GS*
Attached is a picture another of my rats. This is Mike. She's a female rat that my nephew named when he was only one year old. We asked him what the rat was and he said "a monster". He'd been watching Monsters, Inc. a lot during that time, so when we asked him what the monster was called, he said "Mike". That's how we ended up with a female named Mike. :) She's a little more active than Joe, so its hard to get a good picture of her.

Boda is a harlequin parakeet. His name means "buzzard" in Welsh.
He lives in California and his favorite activities are chirping at outside birds, sqawking at a neighbors cockatiel and chattering at his very own birdie video....shhhhh......don't tell him it was made for cats. ~"Shade"

I have a pic of my best friends dog that I would like to share.
This is Izzy. She is pitbull shepard mix. She is the sweetest dog EVER. she is very protective of here home and family. She doesn't play rough and she is wonderful with children. She has a leg problem and needs surgury. Even though she is in pain she still acts like a puppy. I think she is about 6 or 7. Her mom is Katie. ~Dannie

The "Famous" Emma!!!!!

Click on pics to see her "boo-boo" eye~GS Emma came to us as a foster kitten @ 3 mos. old. I really wanted her but hubby said he didn't think it was a good idea. So, she went up to PetsMart for adoption. Two people put applications in for her and to make a long story short, both were denied. And my hubby gave her to me for my b-day. So, she was meant to be w/us! She wags her tail like a dog when she's happy and her name could've been Shadow because she follows me everywhere. She will be 2 yrs. old in August. Love u Emma!
I almost forgot to tell about her eye. She has a "boo boo" eye from an injury she rec'd before I got her. I think her and her mother and siblings were picked up by Animal Control. Then a sponser from my rescue group picked them out from Animal C. Her eye was red and grossly swollen. After treatment, she now has a scar which has greatly reduced in size and she cannot see out of that eye. But does she care? Not at all. She behaves like any normal cat! ~Kat

My name is Amber and I'm around 13 or 14 years old. No one knows for sure because Mom picked me up at the human society about nine years ago. I had been groomed just before this picture was taken and I am showing off my new bow. Mom took me to a new groomer and I had never had bows put on me before, she thought I looked so pretty. I am very special even though I live with four cats, Casper, Patches, Gizmo and Cleo. ~Monica

I wanted to submit, for your consideration, a very unusual pet, Lizzie the Lizard. She is an outdoor pet that lives in the big pine tree and ivy by our porch. She wanders among my plants and keeps bugs away. She really likes my hubby, Charley, and will come out and sit on the arm of his chair when he sits outside. This will be the second year Lizzie has been with us.
She will pose while Charley takes her picture. She has tried to come indoors, but don't think it would be a good idea with Missy Blue Eyes, our tabby. Although Missy would probably enjoy a good chase! ~ML (Mary Lynne)

*If you would like to sneak a peek at Sia, Mooch's sister, look in the April Archives under April 6-Siamia. ~GS*
This Mooch, he's a Plott Hound and a goofy boy too.
He adopted us the first day that we moved her to North Carolina in 2003. He puts up with Shania our Husky and the 5 cats that we have. i found out that he was to be put down at the local shelter, because no one wanted to adopt a hound. :( So we took him in from our neighbor who rescued him, and now he is a happy member of our family. Oh something cute my siamese (Sia posted previous) will clean his ears out to. It's very cute to watch. ~Val

It took me awhile to find Sam, since she blended in with her playmates. Couldn't resist running for my camera, which I do alot with 3 inside kitties and 2 outside. All soooo different but they all make me smile with their antics. ~Lucy

*Sorry you can't see her well, everyone, but this is one of my coworker's cats, and her boyfriend had sent it to her to show what kind of trouble she was getting into while she was at work. Enjoy!*~GS

This is Baby, I read somewhere that cats respond better to names with "ee" at the end.
Our other cat was a little older than her so she would baby her.
We initially called the other cat Love because of a heart shape fur on her side and a heart tattoo where her ovaries were once located.
But now we call them Mama and Baby! hahaha so original right?
Can you imagine us taking them to the vet?
So how is Mama and Baby doing?

Friday, May 05, 2006

This is Sia. She is about 10 months old now. She showed up at our house and never left. I took her to the vet to have her checked out, declawed and spayed. I also asked the Vet to do a Feline Leukemia test on her because she had been a stray and I wanted to make sure she was healthy. She tested positive. We decided to keep her until it starts affecting her, then we'll have to have her put to sleep. The vet said most likely she will only live to be 2 but there's about a 15% chance she could live to be 4. In all the years he's been a vet (30+, I'd say) he's only seen 2 live past lived to be 8 and the other lived to be 11. Right now, she's enjoying the high-life with my three small girls (4-yr-old twins and a 2-yr-old.). She is very tolerant of them and seems to enjoy their attention (at least sometimes). ~Staci

Alti all growed up, and Rufus

*If anyone remembers, I posted Alti as a kitten some time ago. You can find her in the March Archives! :) Well, Alti has grown up into a beautiful girl, and here she is! Along with her pal, Rufus, from yesterday! Told you it was a 2-part post! P.S. Today starts my work-week cat trivia!!! ~GS*

She's now 8 months old and is still totally enamoured of her Rufus-hound :) She came to me when a coworker brought her and her brothers to the office for a "visit", knowing full well that the animal lovers would quickly adopt them all! You can't really tell in the pictures, but her eyes are two-toned, with a ring of green around the middle. And here they are together! (ignore the messy house!) ~Teresa

*This is 1 of 2. Tomorrow will be part 2! You'll want to see it! ~GS*

Here is Rufus being a goofball. He's a 7 year old Labrador/Treeing Walker Coonhound mix that was found as a puppy wandering along the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi. ~Teresa

Bubbles & Mia

This was our Betta fish who my son named, Bubbles (RIP). One of our 1st foster kittens, Mia was checking him out. She was probably thinking...Mmmm, lunch! Anyways, Bubbles got sick or maybe lived out his short life and went to fishy heaven a couple yrs. ago. ~Kat
