Jake is Spots' brother. 5 years old this summer. He had a blood ball in his ear (gross) so his ear is permanently bent. He was born in Newport Rhode Island. The owner was going to give them both to the pound so I saved them. He really only likes me. He deals with others. Weighs about 13.5 lbs. and sleeps on me. Here he is cleaning Benjamin as he sleeps, and a closeup. ~Danielle

Hi Jake!

Danielle, that's so wonderful that you adopted them rather than let them go through the pound.

Why is his ear permanently bent? Or, how did the "blood ball" cause his ear to bend permanently?

I love the picture of him grooming Benjamin. How cute.

Oh, and my Kona likes me, tolerates Bil, and won't go near pretty much anyone else.

Hey Donna,
He had an ear infection and kept scratching. Scratched too much and popped a blood vessel or something likt that. So it all gathered in his ear. He wouldn't keep the stint on that would make his ear straight. So when the rest of the blood dried it make the ear curl. Nice vet bill that was. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have them. I am glad too that I got them. They are my best friends. He cleaned Benjamin (my youngest) for about 5 minutes.

Starting now, I will not be able to post on the weekends (unless I can get a hold of internet access), so instead, I will post Saturday's Pic on Friday evening, and Sundays' on Monday early morning. Our temporary place is in the middle of nowhere, and we can't get internet access, so.....
please check often to see when I've posted them!

Aww - sweet kitty! I bet the bent ear is cute - like a baby kitten or one of those puppies where one ear flops over.

Do you have any other pictures of Jake that really show off his wonderful ears?

I'm sorry that he had that infection. Poor boy. But he seems just fine now! :-)

Hi Jakey! I love that name, Jake. We considered that name when naming our son Jude. Did that make sense. Obviously, we settled on Jude.

Rita, I got it right? "Deter" was the word I was going for. Like you said, deter...detour, both work.

Hi Jake,

Are you sure you are not Cleo's brother instead of Spots, she looks almost like you but she is a lot younger than you. You look so fuzzy and cuddly and cute, you sure don't look like Spots brother though, with all the black markings you have. I'm sure glad over your ear infection. You are to cute to suffer. Shhhh, you don't want to wake up the human there.

Hi Danielle,

I'll do that. And I feel safe to tell you guys you can use to email me. I would love to see more pics of all your fuzzy babies. I'm resisting the urge to inundate B's Servant and Kat1 with photos of Maddie, Kona, and Wiley ;-) That's why I need to get my hiney in gear and get some up on my little web page.

As for my site...sigh. It seems I hardly have much time to work on it! And I have oodles and gobs of pictures to weed through--most of which should have just been deleted as soon as they were taken. I'll make an effort this weekend to try and get a couple of photo albums up. So, do I sort them chronologically? Or give each kitty their own album? Or...?

You guys are great!

I'm so glad to see that Rosie is up and full of P&V this morning!

Donna, I am looking forward to your "little web page" as much as the rest of the gang.

Danni--It's good to see some New England cats represented. I grew up in CT, and I still miss some things about NE. Even after all these years, I still subscribe to "Yankee," and have the Globe on my news page. If nothing else, it's always fun to see which RI politician has stepped in it today(JJ-mostly!).

It's always fun to have litter-mates-- I'm sure Jake & Spot keep things livened up!! Thanks for sharing him.
