EZ Beautiful Cover Girl

*Yes, people, that is the name that the pic came with, lol. There was no more info on the kittens, so I just wanted to fill up space by writing here. EZ is definately my fave of the kittens. And no, this is not the end of the Fuzz Family posts... theres more to come! ~GS*

BTW, my Fuzz Pack, I wanted to let you all know..... Not ONLY did we get a new home, but it appears we got a new FAMILY as well. A tiny, skinny, medium-haired brown tabby has been lurking around (with 3 acres, who knows where she came from?). I started feeding her, and she is apparently very friendly (I laid in the sun with her in the grass, and she tried to bury herself in my hair), she just doesn't like being picked up too much... Anyhow, we did the unthinkable. We named her. You all know what that means. Unfortunatly, I believe she is homeless, and is nursing kittens. She looks so bedraggled (I'll try to get some pics for you all), and has very engorged....teats (trying to keep it rated PG here...). A neighbor said she's had 2 litters that they know of. Isn't that awful! Shes just breeding up a storm! And her babies will too! I want to spay her, but I have to find the kittens first, and they have to be weaned. And she wants to come in the house, but who knows if she has FIV or FeLV???? I HAVE to find the babies and get them all checked, but it is no easy task. I've tried the follow-her-home trick, but when I go outside, she never wants to leave, she just rubs aginst me and Bryan and doesn't want to leave. I think she's tired of being an outdoor cat. Anyhow, sorry I rambled today, I just feel so rushed and helpless!!!!

Oh how exciting - you've been adopted by a sweet kitty and (possibly) a nest of kittens! Mama kitty knows a good home when she sees one! I hope you find the kittens really soon - I'm very anxious for pictures and stories!

Good luck GS!! That is terrible she's out there w/kittens all alone. I sure hope you can find the babies. Just make sure you have them tested before you let them around Gheeri! I know you know that. Have you thought of setting a kitty trap? If you can just get the kittens, you already know the mommie is friendly. We tried a trap where we caught Benji and his crew of ferral kittens, but w/no luck. Usually kittens will fall for the trap. Keep us updated. I know you will. BTW, when are you picking up Steele?

We had to set the kitty trap for all 3 of mine too, because they were only 2 months old and scared. Midnight and Cocoa saw food and in they went. It took 2 extra days to trap Grr, but we got her.

I was told that Squeaker was seen leaving a utility shed, so I'm gonna check there. If they're not there, I dunno what to do. She's docile alright, I won't have a problem with Squeaky. But the kittens.... I don't think they're gonna be friendly, either... We'll see.

Kat, we leave Friday for Georgia!!!! We've already made arrangements, so we'll be back Tuesday, and I won't be able to post for Sat, Sun, Mon & Tues :( but, I'm getting Steele!!! Pics will ensue!!!!!

:::sigh::: no, things have definately not slowed down. And to top it off, I went in the shed that I thought they were in, Sqeaker right behind me, but didn't see them. I have to go back with a flashlight, but I don't think they're there. Yes, I can't wait for Friday, I am excited!

I can see why EZ would be your favorite. She is a real cutie. I kown what you mean about naming a cat. When I found Cleo and she turned around and looked at me with those eyes her name was Cleopatra right then and there. Darn. We are having problems with the Animal control in our county, right now, they are not to reliable. There are quite a few people that are pretty well ticked off at them, as well as my vet. People were protesting in front of city hall against them. So I'm glad to have kept her instead of taking her there. Going to have to check and see if there are any places that keep animals until they find homes for them in our area. Wish I could do it but just can't

Will look forward to more on the "family."

Casper's Mom, You lost me at the end there. Wish you could do what but just can't?? What's going on w/animal control there?

Kat, I believe she means she wished she could have brought Cleo to AC for the fact of not having another cat, but couldn't bring herself to do it.

I know how you feel, *casper's mom*. I wasn't planning on getting another now that we're about to pick Steele up, but Squeaker seems to just NEED us. How can I give her to a place that's almost sure to euthanize her????? She's so scraggly, and there are so many other cats, she won't get picked. Unfortunatly in Florida (I don't know how it is in any of your states), it seems there are less sensible pet owners, and more parents that let their children dictate which pet they get, so there are lots of kittens and puppies that are adopted, and soooo many of the adult cats that get "put down". Its a tradgedy. Adult dogs get adopted all the time, but its a sad time for adult cats (believe me, all, I worked at the Humane Society here- I KNOW what goes on behind closed doors). I just can't bring Sqeaky-girl to those monsters.... I guess we have a 3rd cat (as soon as she goes to the vet).

Kat1 what I meant is I wish I could be the one that could house animals until finding them good homes. Just couldn't afford to do that sort of thing so I just think it's so great when others can do that. I have great respect for them.

Out here in California it's the same way, no respect for animals. Too many to find homes for. There are clinics that don't charge all that much for spaying or nuetering.

As for our Animal control, I have to call them that instead of Humane Society, recently a woman was picked up at a kennel where several dogs were beaten to death. She is a repeat offender for animal abuse. The protestors that I spoke of before wanted the kennel closed and homes found for the other dogs there. Didn't happen. She's back there. Which INFURIATES me. Excuse me have to get back under control. They said they had to let her go because there wasn't enough evidence. Come on Now.

Sorry for venting but I have no sympathy for animal abusers.
