Bath time Kitty

Poor thing. This pic was submitted by A Sanford. ~GS
Yes, I'm still posting kitten pics because of TDK not being up-and-running yet!

Oh that poor little thing! Don't they do their best to look so sad and pathetic after a bath? I just know they're trying to make us feel bad for doing that to them.

Isn't it funny that after a bath, they're all eyes! This poor baby is not a happy kitty! I agree, kitty needs a robe and slippers, and maybe a latte too!

Oh my gosh, poor, cute thing. Sometimes I wonder how big my cats would look if they got completely wet.

I'm not about to try it.

I'd wrap that little thing up in a towel and hug it close to me...while sitting next to a fireplace.

Poor poor kitty! And so pitiful! I gave Marley a bath a couple of weeks ago and he looked so funny. He hates it, but all he does is whine.

• To bathe a cat takes brute force, perseverance, courage of conviction and a cat. The last ingredient is usually hardest to come by. ~Stephen Baker

Sorry kat, I just thought it went really well, not trying to steal ideas! :) And Karen, you're absolutely correct. I think the look they give is purely for guilt purposes.
Twice in my time with him, I had to slosh water in Meeko's mouth because he had bolted out the door and caught a toad. The toads here in South Florida are poisonous, so he would immediately start foaming and shaking his head from the nasty taste. Nearly gave me a coronary both times. I think that second time taught him. Anyhow, luckily he didn't ingest much, and we put up with a lot of kitty slobber in the house (they don't stoip foaming for quite a while, despite rinsing the mouth), and vomiting, and loose stool, but the worst (after the heart attacks)was holding him to rinse his mouth. It took both of us to hold a 15 pound Maine Coon in order to flush his mouth. He was one unhappy kitty. Luckily they don't hold grudges....

That is a great pic. I love the big fluffy cats when you get them wet. They look like they loose about 10 pounds. I had a cat smokey who loveed to take a bath. Spot doesn't mind too much either, but Jake forget it.

Very cute kitten!!!

I have NEVER attempted to bathe any of the cats I owned. Gheeri fell in the tub while I was taking a bath once. I was lucky to emerge with my limbs still attached.

WHERE IS MY ROSIE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

My Grr has convinced me that I will never again try to give a cat a bath. It was a painful lesson, but I learned it well.

I had a white Persian when I was little. I remember him getting a bath almost all the time. He loved to sleep under the neighbor's pick up truck. Their truck had an oil leak and Tobi use to come home covered in oil! After about the 10th bath or so, he finally figured it out. He was a beautiful, TRUE white Persian, full and fluffy, and skinny as a rat when he was soppin wet!!!! It was so funny, my parents had bathing that cat down to a science! He lived to be 18 and I still miss him and my other orange Tabby, Fluffy. They weren't litter mates but were the same age and grew up together. When Tobi died, Fluffy hung on for a month and then he died too. He just gave up when his brother went to the Rainbow Bridge. They're together now. Good news, I'll see them again!!!!

HEY GS, I just sent out an email to everyone I know that has a pet, both past and present. I've asked for picutres. Hopefully I'll get a decent response. I know that some of them have dogs. Most have cats, but there are some doggies in there! If I can find any pictures of my past puppies, then you'll be getting them too.
